Help Raise funds for Rochs LMS Cancer Treatment
Donation protected
This page has been set up to assist with funding treatment for our beautiful, loving friend Roch.
On 9th June 2022, Roch and her family's world was turned upside-down when she received a diagnosis of stage four uterine Leiomyosarcoma (LMS) in her neck and lungs. LMS is a rare, aggressive, soft tissue cancer.
The Doctors are unsure of the location of her primary tumour, but they linked her cancer diagnosis to a fibroid that was removed from her uterus eight years ago. While her biopsy came back negative, the evidence is pointing to a cancerous fibroid that went undetected during the biopsy. Doctors believe cancer escaped into her bloodstream and, characteristic of LMS, it metastasised in her lungs and recently in her neck, where a tumour was removed in May 22.
There is little research on the best form of treatment for this type of cancer. Oncologists in several countries have discussed the best treatment plan for Roch and she is currently undertaking six cycles of chemotherapy to shrink the tumours in her lungs. Roch has also put her Project Manager pants on to research treatments, complementary therapies, and diets to starve her cancer, strengthen her body and help stop the spread of this cancer.
Many of the treatments, consults and tests are not covered or are only partly covered, by Medicare or private health. While undergoing chemotherapy, Roch is having vitamin infusions to slow the spread of cancer and acupuncture to support her immune and central nervous systems. These treatments alone are costing her family over $2,000 per month and will cost around $20k over a year. Our goal is to raise funds to assist in paying for these treatments.
Every donation supports Roch on her journey, is received with gratitude and will ensure she has the best outcome possible.
