Hello, my name is Nicole.

Many of you know me already as a secondary school Languages teacher, and an obsessive long-distance route and hill walker!

I have published a walking guidebook for Cicerone Press on the 1000km Camino de Santiago pilgrimage route from Seville (Spain) all self-funded. My second book released in April 2025 is about the 1000km Via Francigena from Rome to Santa Maria di Leuca (Italy); this one was nearly entirely self-funded. Due for publication in September 2025, I am also the author of a short walks book about northern Perthshire in Scotland, where my home is. Yet again, this is a self-funded project. I am now about to write another guidebook - this time on a pilgrimage called St Olav's Way in Norway. Costs incurred there will be much much higher, and completely self-funding the entirety of the trek to then write the guidebook isn't realistic for me. The route, and its two variants, is almost 1000km long and I will aim to walk it over just one summer: July and August 2025! I will be submitting the book in September 2026 and publication is due in January 2027.
