Help Raise Medical Funds For Mr. Mason
Donation protected
Our comrade James Mason is seeking funds that will allow him to procure the medical assessment necessary to be deemed eligible for ADA protections within FDOC, and a hopeful first step towards justice for years of suffering. The brutality he experienced from his arresting officers was a direct cause to his continued physical and mental pain that affects his language and mobility, for which the only treatment he receives from prison medical staff is Ibuprofen. In his own words:
"My name is James Mason and I’m a silent survivor of extreme excessive force and police brutality at the hands of the infamous Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, to which I’ve been surreptitiously suffering from an undiagnosed serious life threatening physical impairment ever since 2006.
As a consequence, the State of Florida’s bureaucrats has been adamant at discriminating on the basis of my ADA eligibility which is the driving force catalyzing this vindictive conviction and not to mention my current unlawful detention. Given these points, I’m a qualified inmate with a documented physical impairment due to my pre-existing T.B.I. (Traumatic Brain Injury)."
He hopes to shed some light on the intersection of disability and the prison system and to take a stand towards disability justice for all affected prisoners.
