Help raise money for Gideon’s Surgery

Hi everyone, my name is Lydia and I’m starting this GoFundMe for my cat Gideon.

He’s 8 years old, I’ve had him since I was 16 and if you’ve ever talked to me for more than a few minutes- you know that he is my world.

I noticed a few months ago that he had started growing a small gumball-sized lump on his stomach, it was not very noticeable at first as it was still covered in fur, and he didn’t seem to notice so it didn’t cause much concern.

Since then the lump has grown rapidly, lost all the fur, is closer to a tennis ball-size, and has begun to hinder his mobility. I don’t know if the lump is benign or not, most signs point to yes- and that is the positivity I will maintain until I’m able to have it assessed.

As of right now, he wears a cone 24/7. When I take it off, he immediately licks and bites at the lump until it bleeds, and then the cone has to go right back on.

This has affected his appetite causing a noticeable weight loss, as well as an overall change in his personality.

Knowing how costly vet bills can be, I just can’t afford the removal surgery he will need on my own right now, but I can’t stand to see him so uncomfortable and unhappy.
