Help raise money to support wounded veterans.
Donation protected
Hello, and thank you for your interest in my post. My name is Shawn Mahoney. I grew up and currently reside in NH. After graduating High School, I enlisted in the United States Air Force, where I received training as a medic. I served six years active duty and was stationed at Lakenheath AFB throughout my entire enlistment. In 2009, I was temporarily assigned duty in Balad Iraq, for security detail. Since my discharge from active duty, I have remained active in several causes and benefits for our wounded veterans. In 2021 I hiked the entire NE111, 115 mountains throughout New England.
I accomplished this while raising funds for the wounded warrior project. This charity benefits veterans injured during active duty and provides housing and benefits to those with the greatest need. I began my journey hiking with a 5-foot log held over my shoulder and naming it “ “Larry.” Soon Afterwards, I was recognized as the guy that hikes with “Larry the log". This year I have signed on to hike the entire Appalachian Trail with Larry. The trail is approximately 2,200 miles and is usually completed in 6 months' time. During this time, I will be supported on and off the trail with the food and items needed to keep me healthy enough to complete this. I am asking for your help in supporting the many veterans who struggle with physical and mental health issues who desperately need our help. Please consider making a small donation. All proceeds will go to our wounded veterans. These brave men and women have served our country in time of need, many making the ultimate sacrifice. Now it is time for us to recognize these brave men and women and support them as they struggle with their everyday lives. No amount is too small or large. If you’ve read this far, I hope you are as motivated to help as I am.
If you wish to follow my journey, check us out on @larry.the.log on Instagram.
Sincerely, Shawn.
