Help raise Repatriation funds for Mr. Morulane
Donation protected
Patrick Serumola is organizing this fund appeal on behalf of his cousin, and wife to the
deceased, Mrs. Julia Morulane who lives in Botswana, Africa.
Julia’s husband, Mr. Ototegile Morulane, known fondly by his friends and family as OT, had
recently moved to Connecticut to act as a caregiver to a 95-year-old man. OT had dedicated his entire life helping others, including serving the army in Botswana as a young man, and he was excited to have the opportunity to continue this dream as a caregiver in the USA.
Both OT and his client met their untimely and tragic demise in the early morning hours of Friday January 12th , 2024. A fatal fire claimed these two precious lives at Willow Lane in East Lyme, Connecticut, USA, where they both resided. Investigations are still ongoing to establish the cause of the fire. The first responders found OT responsive and took him to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead due to smoke inhalation and burns. I have no doubt in my mind that his first instincts were to protect his client and not to leave him behind.
Julia and family are humbly asking for any assistance to raise funds to send OT’s body back to his home country, Botswana for a dignified burial. The funds raised will go towards hospital
bills, any other unexpected expenses here in the USA and repatriation (the flight needed to
return OT to Botswana). The cost of repatriation to another country is astronomical
(approximately $30,000) but every little donation can go a long way, helping his widow and
family get some closure.
Thank you for your help and kindness!
