Help Rana Due to Pregnancy Complications

Rana and Michael Farber Kennedy are overjoyed to be expecting their first child, a boy who is due in October. However, Rana was diagnosed with preeclampsia with severe features at 25 weeks.
This is a very high risk condition of pregnancy that puts both mom and baby in danger. The only cure for preeclampsia is delivery of the baby. In situations where it is very early in the pregnancy, they must balance the needs of the mother and the baby in regards to timing of delivery. Ideally, Rana would remain pregnant until 34 weeks before delivering. However, that all depends on her and baby’s status which can change from day to day.
Due to the need to monitor her so closely, Rana will need to remain in the hospital for the rest of her pregnancy. She recently started a new position at a new company, and does not yet qualify for any leave or short term disability.
Due to these lost wages and the potential that she could deliver a very preterm baby that may require significant support in the the hospital as well, we are asking for help for their family.
