Help Randall Secure a New Home on Wheels

In case you don't know me, my name is Randall. After several years of being a full-time caregiver for my increasingly-ailing father, he moved in with another relative who lived closer to an emergency room. This meant I had to find a paying job and a place to live quickly.

Late 2020 wasn't the most ideal time to find a job, but I did. Unfortunately the job is physically demanding and doesn't pay anything close to what's considered a "living wage." Because I haven't been able to find affordable housing near where I work I've been living in a Hyundai Elantra hatchback for over three years [RATING: zero stars. Do not recommend].

This morning - while running errands - the car stopped running. I had it towed to a nearby dealership [the photo is of the car being loaded onto a tow truck] where I was told that the engine lost oil pressure and seized-up. A new engine will cost more than the car is worth.

So now I find myself in dire need of a vehicle. Not only so I can do the basics like run errands or go see a movie, but also - and perhaps more importantly - to have a place to sleep.

I have no idea how much a reliable used car goes for nowadays. I chose a $5,000 goal because it's at least a decent down payment towards a vehicle if it won't cover the cost entirely.

I know this isn't the ideal time to be asking for money. But any amount you can chip in will help me out immensely. And if you're unable to chip in I completely understand. Consider sharing my plight with others.

I hate having to ask for help, especially financial help. But I don't really know what else to do at the current moment.
