Rashad Newsomes Recovery Fund

Monday April 17th Rashad tragically suffered a great setback in his life. He suffered a medical emergency at home. His fiancé Angie watched it happen and knew that he was having a stroke. He was taken by ambulance to the hospital where after scans they’ve identified that indeed he had a stroke. A very large and significant one called a Hypertension brain bleed. We are now unsure how much damage has been done to his brain and body and then along with that what kind of recovery can be expected in the future for his quality of life. He is in the ICU and having a hard time understanding and communicating. They are constantly doing more testing and monitoring him. The worry and fear of the unknowns are taking their toll on Rashad’s loved ones especially Angie, who shared a home with him. His children and grandchildren desperately hope for him to be back to his old self - happy, fun-loving, and free from his pain and suffering.
All of us can only imagine what it would be like if we were in the same situation with our own families and loved ones- scared for their health, worried about medical bills piling up and hoping for the best but preparing for the worst. You can prepare for funeral expenses, car accidents but long term intensive care is an unknown. We know that this will be an uphill battle, but we also know that anything is possible with enough determination and perseverance - both of which Rashad has plenty of!
The money we raise will go towards helping relieve some of the financial burdens that would otherwise fall fully on his family. Present and future costs are absolutely unknown. He was a full time worker and now Angie has lost his income to help pay monthly bills and with no idea when or if he will return to working, she is understandably stressed. There is a very real possibility that in the future he will have a change of life with limited movement and communication. Plus with all the doctor visits and at home care Angie will have to be his full time care giver. If you know Rashad you know he would drop everything for anyone around him and give unconditionally. We are praying for a miracle. We hope that even if you cannot donate, you can still keep Rashad and his family in your thoughts and prayers as he fights through this time with courage and strength, and love from his family surrounding him. We also want to add if you do not wish to donate here you can also donate directly to @Angie-Baumgartner-1 on Venmo.
