Help “Ratchet” the Barn Cat Amputee

Donation protected
Hi everyone! Meet Barn Cat, AKA “Ratchet” to those who are close to her. She is a 15 year old Calico, who has spent most of her life as a stray at the barn my cousin keeps her horse at. Peri, my cousin, has become her honorary person and makes sure she always has a full belly. Two days ago, little Ratchet was found with a swollen, infected foot that she couldn’t put any weight on. Peri rushed her to an emergency vet clinic where she spent hours waiting for x-rays and test results. The x-rays concluded that all 4 toes on her back paw we’re not just broken, but crushed. We still don’t know if she had been stepped on by one of the horses, attacked by another animal, or run over. The only two options were to amputate the toes or put her down, and Peri felt that she still had a will to live with a good outlook. Ratchet is doing well after the amputation, and Peri is working around the clock to keep her comfortable. So far, vet bills have been about $3000, and she still needs to go for a follow-up in the next week or two. Peri has paid for this vet bill out of pocket (again, Ratchet is a stray but well loved). Any help to cover some of her medical expenses would be very much appreciated, and I’ll continue to update on Ratchet’s recovery.
