Help Rats & Mice in need

My name is Emi, I create content advocating for the proper care for Rats & Mice, two amazing small pets that are often overlooked, disregarded and in this case sometimes dumped.

For my 24th Birthday this year all I want is to be able to give back to those working tirelessly to help rats, mice and other small pets in need. Do you want to join me in making a difference? I'm raising money in aid of Burrowed Hearts Animal Rescue and every donation will help. Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me.

In October I adopted my male mouse Fleet from this rescue and while waiting for him to come home he received such great care and attention. Burrowed hearts takes in a range of different small pets that need a new start in life but they’re currently a part of a large rat rescue (alongside other charities.) It all started with 5 domestic grey hooded rats being dumped in a woods, left to fend for themselves and survive. Volunteers have been catching as many as they can and placing them in foster homes but they have now multiplied to 80+ rats, many of which are still babies themselves having litters outside inthe cold. Many of the rats still seem so trusting and curious of humans despite there being a few generations born outside and are reliant on them for food.  As I’m sure you can imagine the cost of housing, feeding and providing this many rats with vet treatment is going to add up, and even the smallest donation will help towards caring for them until they are able to go to forever homes.

All of these rats will eventually be looking for homes, if you cannot help by donating but would like to offer some a home please join the Facebook group and contact one of the rescues involved that is local to you. 

Burrowed hearts does not just rescue Rats and Mice but also other small pets in need and any donations in this birthday fundraiser can also greatly benefit the many other animals in their care at the moment.
