Raven vs. Brain Tumor – support her fight!

My name is Brie, and I’m setting up this fund in support of my best friend, Raven. Our worlds were turned upside down on December 26, 2023, when an MRI showed a tumor in Raven’s brain. Ever since, life has been a whirlwind of doctor’s appointments, tests, medications, moving houses to be near treatment, fear, stress, and a lot of unknowns.

Raven had a craniotomy/open biopsy on February 9th to remove the mass and send it out for testing. While they were able to safely remove a portion of the tumor, a significant amount couldn’t be removed because it has infiltrated the healthy brain tissue around it.

After waiting several weeks for genetics and pathology to come back, we now know her diagnosis: a Grade 3 IDH Astrocytoma. She’s currently undergoing 6 weeks of daily radiation and chemotherapy. Once she finishes that, she’ll have an additional 12 cycles of chemo. If all goes to plan, she’ll be in treatment for a total of 15 months.

Raven is the most amazing, strongest and bravest person I know. For those of you who don’t know her, she’s one of those people who lights up any room she enters, constantly has the people around her laughing, and charms the pants off of any stranger she meets. She’s been dealt blow after blow in life and she’s already gone through far more than any 32 year old ever should.

Here’s where we come in – there’s so little any of us can control right now, but the last thing she should have to worry about is how she’s going to pay for life saving treatment. She’ll now be facing a seemingly endless financial burden and if we can rally around her and help to ease that even a little bit, I know that would help her more than words can say. All funds raised here will go directly to Raven to pay for the costs of surgery, chemo, radiation, other medical care (current and future), housing, travel, etc.
