Help Raven & Luna stay with their family

This is not something I typically do, but when a grown man stands in the lobby of an SPCA with tears streaming down his face because he has to give up his faithful companions, I feel compelled to help.
Chris Segur and his wife, Nicole have a heartbreaking story. The more I learned about them, the more my heart broke for them.
Nicole suffered a stroke in January of 2022, resulting in her being wheelchair bound. After the stroke, Nicole had to leave her data entry job of several years. Even with the household income reduced, they were able to make ends meet- but barely. Then, later in May of 2022, Nicole suffered a heart related event and coded. She now has a pump that keeps her alive while she awaits a heart transplant.
Chris took several weeks off to care for Nicole in the weeks after her stroke and then again after the heart event. He now travels once a month with her to Strong Memorial Hospital for ongoing care.
With income further reduced, they couldn't afford their current home so they put a deposit down on another apartment two months ago...or so they thought. Chris and Nicole were victims to an online scammer and were out $1,400 with no apartment and no recourse.
As the couple fell further and further behind financially, Chris's truck was repossessed and they faced an impending eviction on May 1.
We met Chris yesterday when he walked almost 6 miles to the Niagara SPCA to plead his case. He knew we were over capacity, but he had no options for his dogs.
The Segurs have had Luna, a mixed breed dog for 5 years and Raven, a black Lab for 2 years. We'd love to see these two super sweer girls stay with their owners who love them so very much.
Any amount donated is helpful and all funds will be given directly to the Segur family to help them get on their feet and keep their beloved family members. ❤️
The Segurs are also looking for affordable, animal-friendly housing in the Niagara Falls or North Tonawanda area, and an affordable, reliable vehicle.
We're also exploring public assistance options for them.
