Born in War, Let's Give Abdul Salam the Peace He Deserves
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Tien and I am fundraising for a young married couple, Rawan and Ahmed, and their first baby, Aboud. They have endured countless hardships for more than a year due to the horrific War in Gaza, struggling every day to survive and care for their family. Currently, with no sources of income and the risk of re-displacement ever-present, they are sheltering in a tent in Zawaida and relying on your support to cover daily necessities. Any donation, big or small, will contribute to easing their daily burdens and nurturing their hope.
Please read their story below:
Hello, I am Rawan, and together with my husband, Ahmed, I am living through a nightmare in Gaza. I was pregnant with my child, Aboud, throughout the entire war. By the mercy and blessings of Allah, we were able to welcome him into this life and look forward to a life of happiness ahead. However, as I write this, the echoes of explosions remind us to seek a future where our child, Aboud, can grow up in safety and peace.

Our story is one of love, dreams, and now, survival.

Ahmed was once a passionate lawyer, then later a barber by necessity. He has seen his dreams crumble along with the walls of his shop.

The home we built with years of hard work was destroyed in an instant, our cherished memories buried under the rubble.

I am a Master’s in Public Health student and a pharmacist by profession. I was in the process of completing my degree when the war broke out, and I ended up losing my beautiful pharmacy and the opportunity to complete my studies as the war has left nothing but destruction.

Every corner of what was once our sanctuary now reminds us of what we’ve lost.

Our family has been displaced multiple times, with each displacement stripping away what little we had left.

We now find ourselves in Zawaida, where every day is a battle against despair. With no access to adequate medical care and the constant threat of violence, our situation is dire. My health deteriorated all throughout my pregnancy as I didn’t have access to enough food and clean water.

In the midst of all the horrors and destruction of war, we have been blessed with a beautiful gift: my firstborn son, Aboud Abdul-Salam. His name symbolizes my wish for him to be born in a time of peace but unfortunately, that wish did not come true.

Please, do not leave us in these dire times alone. Your support will contribute to easing our daily burdens and bringing us closer to safety and hope. Please help us survive this war, so that one day, I will be able to fulfill my wish of providing a peaceful, loving home for my child. Thank you for your kindness and support.
