Help Raya Run Again – Luxating Patella Surgery

I am raising money for my 1-year old dog, Raya. She is diagnosed with luxating patellas on both rear legs and needs surgery. I hope to raise $4,000 to help cover her needs. Her first surgery will be on the right leg at the end of November 2022 and cost $4,560. In six weeks, we will operate on her left leg, costing $4,028. She will then undergo laser therapy. Raya is a thriving 1-year-old puppy in severe pain and needs this surgery. My family and I have only had her for less than a year, but we want to do everything possible to ensure she has a long, healthy, and happy life!

Background story: Raya was adopted at 3 months old in November 2021. She is a chihuahua mix. Raya is a typical puppy: active, playful and full of life! She especially loves cuddling and giving kisses. Raya enjoys playing with her pomchi sister and making new friends. Recently, we noticed Raya limping on her right hind leg. The vet thought it would be best for her to get some crate rest to see if it would heal. The only fun relief from the crate was learning how to swim to get her legs moving! The radiologist recently confirmed Raya has bilateral luxating patellas on the hind legs. Unfortunately, her condition is worse than we thought. The orthopedic surgeon recommends surgery, which Raya will get at the end of November and again in January. It breaks my heart that half of Raya’s short life has been dimmed by her unexpected condition.
