Support Rebeccas Life Saving Kidney Transplant
Hello Rebecca has been battling chronic kidney disease all her life. At the age of 8, she received her first kidney. Chronic kidney disease has significantly impacted her quality of life most of her life, and for the past two years, she has been on dialysis. Despite these challenges, she has demonstrated remarkable resilience, drawing strength from the unwavering love and support of her family and friends. Medical professionals have advised that a second kidney transplant offers the best opportunity for her to regain a healthier and more fulfilling life. As a lot of you may know, Rebecca received her first kidney transplant 36 years ago from our dad, John Paterson, and this kidney has lasted Rebecca well.
Rebecca has undergone dialysis treatment for nearly two years, which has taken a significant toll on her physical and emotional well-being. She undergoes dialysis three times weekly, requiring her to travel from Cootamundra to Wagga Wagga and back, often leaving her exhausted and unable to fully participate in her personal and professional life.
The great news is Rebecca has been offered a kidney under the exchange program in late November 2024, and her brother Shaun is donating on the same day under this program.
The financial implications of a kidney transplant are substantial, and while Rebecca has insurance coverage, it does not sufficiently cover all associated expenses. These include medical bills, post-surgery care, and other unforeseen costs.
In light of these circumstances, I am humbly reaching out to seek your support. I have established this GoFundMe page with the aim of raising funds that will assist Rebecca in covering the costs of the transplant and ensuring a smoother recovery process. Your generous contributions will alleviate the financial burden and enable her to focus on her health and well-being during this critical time. This money will go directly into Rebecca's bank account to help with costs.
Your generous contribution can make a significant impact, enabling Rebecca to overcome her current health challenges and live a life free from limitations. Every donation, regardless of its size, will bring us closer to realizing this life-saving procedure. Furthermore, your prayers, positive thoughts, and assistance in sharing this campaign are invaluable and deeply appreciated.
