Help Rebecca Rushbrook rebuild her home

Hi my name is Kath Fielden and I am fundraising for my friend, Rebecca Rushbrook and her kids, who lost all their worldly possessions in the Lismore floods yesterday. Bec had just got back on her financial feet after covid19 decimated her photography and freelance writing business. Bec chose her current home because at 12.60m, the floorboards were higher than the 12.59m flood levels reached in 1954, but yesterdays floodwaters went to 14.37m.

After the 2017 floods, Bec volunteered for days at the Flood Donations Hub run by Lifeline in Lismore, assisting flood-affected families to re-build their lives and to clean their houses from contaminated floodwaters. Sadly, like many, she now finds herself in the same position. Bec has also lost her job because her employer's business went totally underwater.

Whilst Bec, her three kids and her dog are safe, everything they owned went under contaminated floodwaters. This fundraiser to help them start again from scratch. They will need an income, a new fridge, a new washing machine, new beds, bedding, bedlinen, new shoes, new kitchen appliances, new lounges and other basic furniture, new clothes, new school uniforms, laptops, books and other school equipment

As well as being a fabulous mother, Bec is also a poet, a teacher, an artist, a photographer, a fighter, a lover, a friend and whilst this will knock her down, she will pick herself up and put her kids on her shoulders and haul them all back up the riverbank and out of the mud. Bec will also pass on anything she absolutely doesn't need to someone else who needs it more, and even though she has lost everything, she will be in there doing what she can to help others.
