Help Rebuild a Life: Car Needed for New Job

Hi everyone,

I never thought I would start a GoFundMe for myself... but here I am, in desperate need of a car.

I live in a small town in the mountains of SoCal. I have been using the local bus to get around town and get to work. I have amazing friends who give me a ride when I really need it. So why do I need a car now?

Long story short: in January 2024, my abusive (soon-to-be) ex-husband basically got rid of me, took off with our son and everything we had. I had to go to court to fight for my son and I had to rebuild my life from scratch. Ever since, he has been doing all evil trying to separate me from my now 2-year-old son and to make my life impossible. God has blessed me greatly through it all, and I am surrounded by amazing people who support me any way they can.

Unfortunately, due to the still ongoing post-separation abuse, I got into a really tough situation in October. I cannot keep working at the place where I used to, and instead of buying a car from the money I saved up, I had to hire an immigration attorney.

I already have a job offer, but to be able to work there, I need a car. The bus only goes on the main road in town, so there are a lot of areas where I cannot get to without a car. Winter is here too, so I would like a reliable 4WD car that is safe for me and my son in the snow too.
