Help Rebuild After Hurricane Helene: Art for Hope
Donation protected
Hello, friends and supporters!
My name is Anet, I’m a local artist and a member of Asheville's vibrant craft community. Hurricane Helene destroyed my primary source of income, leaving me struggling to cover basic living expenses, including my rent, car payment, insurance, and groceries. I am reaching out for help to stay afloat during this difficult time.
Why I Need Your Support
Since losing my job, I’ve turned to art as both a creative outlet and as a way to rebuild my life. Creating art has always been a therapeutic way for me to express my resilience, and I hope to share this journey with you. With your help, I can stay in Asheville while I look for work, maintain my creative outlet and continue contributing to our local craft community’s renewal. We all look forward to a fresh start in the coming months.
Your support not only helps me but also strengthens the craft community as a whole, which is vital to Asheville.
How I’ll Use the Funds
Your support will directly cover:
- Rent and utilities to ensure I can remain in my home while my community recovers
- Car payments and auto insurance so I can maintain my transportation
- Groceries and essentials to cover daily living needs
The reopening of the Biltmore Village shops where I’ve worked since 2018 is optimistically expected to start by Easter, with safe water for drinking and bathing projected by December 15. While opportunities will slowly return, I need help staying here until then—at least until January, when I can hopefully start rebuilding my income.
An Artful Way to Say "Thank You"
In gratitude for donations of $100 or more, I’m offering a piece of my unframed art as a heartfelt thank you (examples posted below). Each original painting is a mixed-media work mounted on 4x6 " watercolor paper, created with acrylics, oil stick, inks, watercolor, and recycled materials. These paintings represent my journey of resilience and hope, and I’m honored to share them with you in exchange for your kindness.
How You Can Help
Any donation, large or small, will help me cover essential expenses and continue creating art to share with my community and all of you.
Sharing this link with your network would also mean a lot to me.
Thank you for your generosity and for standing by me in this time of need.
With heartfelt gratitude,
~anet (aka lttle.friday)
