Help Rebuild After Fire

Samsung S20 FE starts a fire in the middle of the night!!

On October 23rd, at 1am, my 15-year-old daughter woke up to a fire only feet away from her. The fire originated from her cell phone charging beside her, per the fire chief. The phone was charging on top of a folded blanket that was sitting on a fabric chair.

Our family was able to get out without major injuries, and for that, we are thankful!

The local fire department and police were quick to the scene and were able to put the fire out before it spread more.

Now that the dust (or more correctly, ash) has settled, her room and almost all her belongings are a total loss. Her furniture, clothes, sentimental items, etc., are destroyed. I am working on saving anything I can, maybe some clothes that were in drawers, but I don't have much faith in that right now.

I am asking for financial help, even $5, to help with the expense of vent cleaning, carpet cleaning, pulling all the burned items and carpet out of the space, replacing furniture, clothes, mortgage, and personal items. I don't know yet if the damage is more than I can see.

The other rooms had smoke damage and ash all over everything. Most everything was able to be saved, but I'm still working on scrubbing walls and ceilings outside of the other kids' bedrooms.

I did not have homeowners insurance. To be completely transparent, I couldn't pay the extra expense.
