Help Rebuild Altadena Hardware and Our Community

Dear friends and everyone who has supported us from the beginning,

First, we (the Orlandini family and owners of Altadena Hardware) want to say we are with you and grieve the devastation and loss so many in our community are experiencing in this moment.

We come to you with heavy hearts as we rally together to support brothers Jimmy and Rob Orlandini—the faces behind the Altadena Hardware store. The devastating Eaton Fires took a significant toll on the entire Altadena community, including this beloved hardware store. Altadena Hardware has been serving the Altadena community and beyond for nearly 100 years and since 2010 has been lovingly run by the Orlandini's, continuing a five decades long family tradition in the hardware business.

Jimmy and Rob both grew up on Mendocino Lane, establishing their own families in the neighborhood and dedicating their lives to serving this community. Their parents, Jim and Paula have also been active members of the Altadena community for over 40 years and still live on Mendocino Lane (thankfully their home still stands). Jimmy and his wife Alison, along with their three kids—James (9), Emily (6), and Zoey (4)—and Rob and Kelli, also with their three kids—Dylan (2), Sofia (6), and Camden (8)—call Altadena their home. While their houses somehow survived, most of their friends' and neighbors' homes, along with neighboring businesses, are all gone.

Altadena Hardware has provided more than just hardware supplies; they’ve offered a place where the Altadena community can transform their houses into homes and neighbors become friends. If you know Jimmy and Rob, you know that they greet their customers by name and have been a family resource for over 15 years in this neighborhood. As the Altadena community seeks to rebuild, my Orlandini family hopes to rebuild the store so they can support the city in recovering from this unfathomable loss.

We are launching this GoFundMe campaign to help cover payroll for our dedicated employees, who are like family and make Altadena Hardware what it is. Anything beyond this immediate need will go towards recouping the significant losses for the business and to support both families during this difficult transition.
