Help Rebuild and Restore the Caribbean after Hurricane Beryl
Donation protected
Dear Friends,
The Caribbean islands have once again faced the unrelenting force of nature. Hurricane Beryl, the earliest Category 5 Atlantic hurricane on record, made its devastating mark on the Caribbean.
Impact of Hurricane Beryl
- Buildings Destroyed: Winds reaching up to 165 mph, caused significant structural damage to homes, schools, and businesses including wiping out 90% of Union Island in St Vincent & the Grenadines
- Flooding: Extensive flooding has displaced thousands of families, washed away roads, and destroyed critical infrastructure.
- Power Outages: Many islands remain without power, affecting hospitals, communication systems, and daily life.
- Agricultural Damage: Livelihoods have been decimated with vast areas of crops lost, threatening food security for many communities.
- Economic Impact: The destruction has compounded existing economic challenges, leaving many without the means to rebuild.
The team behind One Caribbean Relief are committed to providing immediate assistance and long-term support to those affected by Hurricane Beryl. This is being done by supporting grass roots movements responding to the disaster on the ground who are working on getting basic necessities (water, tinned foods, powdered milk, sanitary products and first aid kits) and longer term strategies for rebuilding infrastructure. Groups supported will be listed in the updates but will focus on relief for:
- St Vincent & the Grenadines
- Grenada
- Jamaica
