Help rebuild Balm salon
Donation protected
I’m Erin the owner of Balm Salon, and I’ve been a member of the Asheville community for over 10 years. Hurricane Helene was so much more than any of us expected, and the flooding that happened in the river arts district will take years to recover from. So many businesses were damaged or destroyed in the flooding from the French broad River caused by the hurricane, and there was nothing we could have done to prepare for what happened.
The beloved and quiet refuge that I built for my stylist and clients was completely destroyed by the flooding, we lost everything. As a woman business owner and mother I’ve put everything I had into creating a sacred space that was wiped away in an instant.
My plan is to rebuild and be able to bring back the same lovely place to work and rejuvenating experience as before.
Any funds collected will go toward rebuilding the salon and strengthening the community though a safe, inclusive, and uplifting place to work and call home.
I’ve never had to reach out to my community like this before, and I’ve never experienced a total loss of this magnitude before. I’ve worked so hard for so many years to build such a special place and I’m so heartbroken and sick seeing what I’ve worked so hard for completely destroyed.
Thank you all so much for any support and help you can provide. I know it’s not just us hurting, we have a whole community to rebuild.
