Beirut's Karantina Hospital needs your help!
On August 4th, 2020, a violent blast rocked Beirut. It killed close to 200 people, injured thousands, and displaced hundreds of thousands more. In addition to the many lives lost and traumatized, the property damage is estimated at US $10-15 billion.
Among the wreckage are three of Beirut's main hospitals, including the Karantina Government Hospital and its Carlos Slim Pediatrics Center.
The Center provides free high-quality care to any infant in Lebanon.
It was renovated in 2014 by Dr Robert Sacy, its dedicated and passionate founder, through donations to the NGO, ASSAMEH Birth and Beyond. He helped secure the most state-of-the-art medical equipment and prenatal service facilities in all of Lebanon.
Everything was wiped away on August 4th.
We need your help to rebuild the hospital again!
We will match your donations up to $5k.
Who are we?
We are a group of Lebanese Americans and Americans who looked on with horror as Beirut crumbled. We are moved by the perseverance of Dr. Robert Sacy and his staff and we want to help.
Important points to note:
- All the donated funds will go to the NGO ASSAMEH Birth and Beyond, which will fund the reconstruction of the hospital.
- We will transfer the funds to the corresponding Lebanese account and provide receipts.
- We do not officially represent the above non-profit organization. However, they have all been made aware of this campaign and have agreed to receive donations.
- GoFundMe and bank transfer fees will apply.
