Help Re-build Charleston Scuba!!

Donation protected

Everyone, as some of you may know; on the evening of 26 August 2021, a staple of the Charleston community, Charleston Scuba, caught fire. Since 1987, Charleston Scuba has been a fixture that has fostered, nurtured and supported the local scuba diving community. We have trained thousands of divers, certifying them from beginning Open Water students all the way through Instructor and more.

As of right now, we have not been able to enter the building due to on-going fire investigations and the necessity of having an insurance adjuster come out and assess the damage. We have to assume that the building and all of its contents will be a total loss.

I am starting this GoFundMe to help the owners, Tom and Sally, re-build the shop and to recover from all of the damage financially. Emotionally, the best way to recover from the fire is to be able to get the shop back up and running as soon as possible. Insurance will cover some; but there are shop staff who now have no place to work and instructors and divemasters who now have no place to teach.

There will need to be a lot of support from the local community to re-build. All donations received will be given to Tom and Sally to help re-build the shop and to replace equipment and inventory lost to the fire.

Please consider donating to re-store this cherished Charleston landmark.

Thank you and God Bless.
