Help Rebuild Gibson’s Glass Studio After Devastating Fire
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Jenny and late last night, tragedy struck our community. My dear friend and mentor, Gibson, lost everything when his glassblowing studio caught fire. In just a few hours, two decades of dedication, craftsmanship, and artistic legacy were reduced to ashes.
Gibson isn’t just a glassblower—he’s a cornerstone of our community. A teacher, a father, a friend. He has spent over 20 years honing his craft and generously sharing his knowledge with others, myself included. His shop wasn’t just a workspace—it was a sanctuary for creativity and connection.
Among the loss were:
• 10 torches
• 2 lathes
• 3 kilns
• Pounds and pounds of specialty glass
• Personal pieces from his collection, made by friends, mentors, and artists—some who are no longer with us.
These weren’t just tools or decorations. They were irreplaceable pieces of a life’s work.
Gibson has a son, and this studio was his family’s primary source of income. This loss is not only emotional but deeply financial. Now, we’re reaching out to our community—to the people who know the value of art, mentorship, and resilience.
We need your help.
Every donation, no matter the size, will go directly toward rebuilding what was lost—equipment, materials, and the means for Gibson to support his family and continue creating. Let’s come together and help give back to someone who has given so much to us.
Please donate if you can, and share this with your networks. Let’s help Gibson rise from the ashes.
