Help DYFEA Rebuild the Ghostbuster Ecto-1 Project Car

I'm reaching out to you today to share a heartbreaking story and ask for your help. DYFEA, a small YouTuber, has been restoring a 1962 Cadillac hearse since 2021, turning it into a replica of the iconic ECTO-1 from Ghostbusters. This car, fondly named "wrecto-1," has been documented from its humble beginnings as a DIY build, with the intention of inspiring others to take on daunting projects.

DYFEA's mantra is, "If I can do it, so can you."

The Ecto-1 was more than just a car; it was a piece of art, a dream come true, and a source of joy for many. DYFEA had recently begun driving the car to events, documenting the adventures, and hoped to soon join a local Ghostbusters chapter to bring even more enjoyment to fans across Central Texas. Unfortunately, a gas fire in the shop during some welding caused a tremendous loss of property. Thankfully, everyone was able to get to a safe distance, and no one was hurt. The fire department prevented catastrophic losses to both the car and the shop.

Despite this setback, DYFEA's spirit remains unbroken, and they are determined to rebuild and restore the Ecto-1 to its former glory. The cost of restoring the Ecto-1 is significant, and the insurance payout received will not fully cover the restoration. We are asking for your support to help rebuild this iconic tribute. The funds raised will go towards purchasing replacement parts and glass for the car, contracting a shop for bodywork and mechanical support, replacing hard-to-find roof equipment, and directly supporting DYFEA's friend with shop repairs and replacing their own damaged car parts that insurance is not covering.
