Help the Corbett Family Recover After a Devastating Flood
Donation protected
On Thursday evening, Hurricane Helene brought a catastrophic flood to the Corbett Family’s home—and many others. What was expected to be a 4-foot storm surge (which the home was very well prepared for) turned into over 9 feet. Although they had prepared for the storm, the water entered their home from all sides, forcing them to evacuate in a panic. Grabbing their children, ages 3 and 6, and their two elderly dachshunds, they waded through 5-7 feet of water for nearly a quarter mile before being rescued. While the family escaped unharmed, they now face the challenge of figuring out their next steps.
The Corbetts have lost nearly everything they owned, including their work truck, and to make matters worse, their rental insurance does not cover flood damage, leaving them without any financial assistance. They urgently need to secure a new place to live and replace basic necessities, as even their shoes were swept away by the flood.
Jason and Lindsey didn’t want me to create this fundraiser because they know so many others were affected by this disaster. However, I insisted, because they are always the first to step up and help others in times of need. Not even a month ago, they were coordinating a community campaign for friends who lost their home to a fire, raising donations and supplies to get them back on their feet. Now, it’s our turn to support the Corbetts in their time of need.
We’re asking for donations to help this incredible family rebuild. No amount is too small, and if you can’t contribute, sharing this campaign will be an invaluable way to help. The Corbetts, like so many others, are facing an overwhelming situation, and we hope those impacted will receive some form of relief.
Please keep the Corbetts and all those affected by this historic disaster in your prayers. Together, we can make a difference. Thank you for your kindness and generosity during this challenging time.
