Help rebuild K Beauty Supply in Chicago after looters have destroyed the store.

Hello, my name is Jenny Kim. I’m setting up a Gofundme fundraiser for my parents’ beauty supply shop. Our family store is located in the southern part of Chicago and it was looted on Sunday afternoon, May 31, 2020. Watching through the security cameras from home, my whole family was devastated and very shocked. My parents have worked so hard for this business in order to take care of my family and support my sister, my brother, and I. 

My parents were ready to open up the store again after 2 whole months due to the Covid-19 pandemic. After hearing about the looters that were near the Chicago area, my parents were nervous about our store becoming affected as well. The moment the alarms went off, it really hurt me to see my parents watch all their hard work go into destruction. 

Our business has been running for about 4 years now and I remember the summer of my 7th grade year going out to the store every day to clean, set up, and organize before getting ready to open up this special store. Our whole family would always wake up early in the morning and get home late as 11 p.m. Even though it was very difficult, we enjoyed this time as a family to make my parents’ dreams come true. 

As a small business, our insurance only covers about $50K of the $250K+ worth of stolen goods. This was my parents’ only source to provide for our family. So I simply ask, doesn’t matter how big or small, for you to help us rebuild our business. We all need to help each other during this rough time in this cruel world.

In Hebrews 6:10 it says, “God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them.” I know we can all get through this as a human race. I thank you so kindly from the bottom of my heart.
