Help Rebuild Lives: Supporting Gazan Cousin who fled the War

Donation protected
Dear compassionate friends and supporters

I am reaching out to you with a heavy heart on behalf of my cousin and his wife who have fled the devastating war in Gaza to find refuge in Egypt. My cousin Habib Albughdadi and his wife Mona AlTahtawi, like many others, had no choice but to flee their homes amidst the chaos of war. who have endured unimaginable suffering as refugees fleeing the relentless bombings in Gaza.

My cousin Habib Albughdadi worked hard as a young man to start a family, he used to work as an employee in a small company in Gaza with a humble wage that enabled him to save a deposit for a flat and to propose to his wife, Dr Mona AlTahtawi, a newly graduate dentist. They shared dreams to establish a family and use their savings to furnish their flat that they moved into it almost one year and a half ago when they got married.

During that time, his wife Mona, successfully gained her Bachelor Degree with Honors in Dentistry. As Mona was a newly graduate, the couple were dependent on Habib’s income to pay for their expenses. He was working hard to fulfill their dreams to run Mona’s own dental clinic practice in the near future. They were expecting a baby, they were counting the days for the bundle of joy as they started to prepare the baby’s nursery.

Unfortunately, their lives have been shattered by the devastating conflict in Gaza. They were forced to evacuate; their home was bombed. Their harrowing journey to safety has forced them to relocate three times, each time leaving behind what little they managed to salvage, only to face the terror of bombings yet again.

They end up in a tent in Rafa, where they have to share toilets and facilities with others, offering no privacy or dignity, leaving them feeling exposed and vulnerable.

With no access to medication or proper medical care, they were struggling to cope due to lack basic necessities like food, clean water, and medical care, Habib and Mona lost the baby. The horrors of war have left them with nothing – their home destroyed, their livelihoods gone, and their dreams shattered. They’ve never imagined they would be in this situation, but the reality of war has forced them into a nightmare and found themselves compelled to flee the relentless violence and devastation in Gaza. However, the journey to safety has been a burdan the weighs heavily upon them
They left behind everything they owned, seeking safety and solace in a foreign land. While they found temporary shelter in Egypt, the cost of survival has burdened them with a significant debt that they simply cannot repay on their own. Their journey to safety has been marked by unimaginable hardship and loss, and now they face a new challenge – an overwhelming debt that threatens to drown them further into despair.

Although, I am determined to continue to support them, however, my family in Australia can’t do it alone. I am reaching out to you, our compassionate community, for support. Your generosity can make a profound difference in the lives of my cousin and his wife who have been displaced by war. Your donation will help alleviate the burden of debt and provide them with the opportunity to rebuild their lives with dignity and hope.

With your support, we can ensure that my they have the means to access essential resources, rebuild their livelihoods, and secure a brighter future for themselves. No amount is too small, and every contribution will be deeply appreciated.

The debt they have accrued includes expenses for basic necessities such as paying their debit to flee Gaza, food, shelter, and medical care, as well as the costs associated with transportation and documentation required for their relocation. Despite their best efforts to rebuild their lives, the weight of this debt looms large, leaving them trapped in a cycle of poverty and uncertainty.

Please consider donating and sharing their story with your networks. Together, we can make a difference and offer a glimmer of hope to those who need it most.

The donations will be directed to my Westpac bank (Sama AL-ASHI) account in Melbourne - Australia. Every contribution will reach my cousin through

Thank you for your kindness and compassion.

With gratitude,
