Help Rebuild Mama Gertie's After Hurricane Helene

Dear Friends, Family, Campers, and Supporters,

My family and friends along with many other guests were staying at Mama Gertie's when Hurricane Helene struck Western North Carolina. Like so many others they were cut off from all communication and services due to the devastation caused by Hurricane Helene. Fortunately, all guests and staff are safe.

As you have seen on the news and social media, Western North Carolina, Swannanoa specifically, has been severely impacted. Many homes and businesses were destroyed or severely damaged. Swannanoa is my home and as the community begins the process of rebuilding, we need your help! Fall is traditionally the busiest time of year for our community and the financial loss is as devastating as the physical losses.

We are reaching out to you during a time of great need as your beloved Mama Gertie's has been ravaged by Hurricane Helene. This cherished space has been a connection to nature, easy access to the Blue Ridge Parkway, Asheville, Black Mountain, the Biltmore Estate, and more. Sadly, the recent storm has left it in ruins, and the road to recovery feels daunting.

Mama Gertie's isn't just a business; it’s a safe space and a home away from home for many. We’re asking for your help to restore this vital space.
