Help Rebuild Master BBQ After Hurricane Helene

Hi! I am Paul Pike, owner of Master BBQ AVL. We are food trailer that serves traditional Filipino food in Asheville. Our trailer was permanently parked at Zillicoah Beer Co servicing the brewery food needs and surrounding communities.
It’s incredibly difficult to ask for help during such a challenging time, especially as Hurricane Helene has affected so many of us. Lives, homes, and livelihoods have been devastated, including ours. The Master BBQ trailer, which was built on hard work and a passion for serving the best Filipino food, has been severely damaged. Our catering and pop up stuff have all been washed away. Our trailer was 2/3rds filled with water damaging our flooring, wood walls, some cabinets, and appliance were beyond repair.
Cooking and serving this community is what we know best, and it breaks our hearts that we are now unable to do so. Cooking has always been my passion. For more than 20 years, both in the Philippines and here in the US, I have poured my heart into it. I started Master BBQ with my wife, Julia, in hopes that we can continue our family's legacy and share our culture thru our food. Together we turned our dream into reality through numerous consistent pop-ups at different breweries in Asheville plus our catering services, for more than a year. The support we received from these breweries, along with the incredible community, family and friends enabled us to transition to a food trailer.
Our team of 8, who depends on the truck for their livelihood, is now left without income, and our trailer requires significant repairs. After only being in business for 7 months, this setback feels indescribable.
Many of you have been reaching out, asking how you can help us—and this is the best way to do so. We are asking for your support, not just to help us rebuild, but to help support our team who have lost their income, and to allow us to mobilize and provide food for the community during this time of need. Every contribution will go towards getting us back on our feet and serving the food needs of our community.
From our humble beginnings as a pop-up to where we are now with the trailer, none of this would have been possible without the support of the breweries, our community, and family and friends who have stood by us throughout the journey.
Our goal is to be back on track soon so we can to support the food needs of Woodfin, and nearby areas. Your generosity will help us get there and continue our mission of serving the Asheville community.
We are deeply grateful for any assistance. Thank you for being part of our journey.
Update: Insurance has denied our claim on property damage and was quick to close our case. We are currently focusing our energy on rebuilding the trailer to be back at its best soon.
11/11 Update: The Master BBQ truck is at WWT factory for the necessary repairs and rehabilitation. Thankfully, the estimated repair time is around 3 weeks to 1 month, so we're hopeful to be back in December. We are very grateful for your continued support.
