Heartbreaking Devastation
North Cove DGC has been a labor of love for so many amazing humans since 2020. As we approached the entrance on the morning of September 30th (a moment I will never forget), my heart sank. The destruction was indescribable. Tears filled our eyes.
Every bridge crumbled into bits. An actual river of debris littered the entire property. Totaled cars in the middle of the fairway. Our entire maintenance shed filled with mud. Trees, hundreds of feet tall, ripped out and thrown about. No more teepads, no more equipment, no more baskets, no signs of a world class course. Everything we worked so hard for, gone.
We Will Rebuild and We Will Be Stronger.
North Cove Leisure Club is a pillar of our local community and hosts disc golfers from all over the world.
Our local community has banded together. We are resilient. We’re committed.
We’re asking for the help of the global disc golf community. The road ahead is long and expensive. Your funds are extremely impactful.
All funds raised will be used for:
*community funds, meals, machinery, and supplies to be shared within the community
*re-building the destroyed roads and bridges
*removing all debris
*new tee pads, baskets, landscaping across our 72 hole facility
*restoration of our pro shop, clubhouse, and maintenance facility
In addition to monetary donations, we will be hosting "Build Days @ North Cove" over the next few months! If you have heavy equipment, carpentry skills, or just want to help clean up please fill out the form below.
Lastly, if you have any in kind donations you think would be helpful to our rebuild please do not hesitate to reach out (trees, seed, signage etc).
Our Bright Future
Our vision is for North Cove to be the Augusta National of Disc Golf and a vibrant concert and events venue for Western NC that will create unforgettable memories while also showcasing surrounding WNC small businesses. We will build back WNC together and stronger than ever. We will continue our commitment to support our local community and economy, buying from local vendors wherever possible, hiring locals, and investing in this community at every turn.
Since 2020 we have:
*Hired people locally in our community
*Developed 18 hole ball golf into 3 world class disc golf courses in collaboration with Innova (2 of 3 courses ranked top 100 in the world).
*Hosted 2023 Silver Series Pro Tour
*Hosted the 2021, 2022, 2023 Collegiate National Championships
*Completed renovations to our Clubhouse, Birdie's (restaurant and bar)
*Installed glamping tents and hosted small weddings, disc golf bachelor parties, and retreats
