Help Rebuild Nueva Vida Church:Destroyed by Fire
Donation protected
On Friday, November 24 at around 1am our church CFC Nueva Vida located in Los Fresnos, TX, was broken into and set on fire by a distraught young woman dealing with mental issues. Once inside she vandalized and ransacked the building then proceeded to set multiple objects on fire while allegedly posting this act of arson to her social media account. Thankfully because of a quick response from church neighbors and someone on social media, the authorties were informed and on site shortly after, minimizing the fire spread and thus damage to the other surrounding buildings. Although they were quick to respond, the property damage is significant and the integrity of the structure has been compromised. Furthermore, the church does not currently have any Commercial property insurance policy to cover any of the damages or loss. The bulding where this event happened was a work in progress and the faithful church members along with other churches had been working year after year, investing hours of volunteer work and significant resources to get this building up to code in hopes to be insurable soon and fully equipped. Presently it was mainly used as a center for Food distribution to the community, partnering with local food banks. It was also used as host site to provide free health fairs to the underserved and also a place to host and provide missional care to undergaged boys and girls from local immigration detention centers. On Sunday mornings, the finished sections of the buildings were used for Student and childern ministry sunday bible school.
The church is heavy-hearted and in disbelief but it is not discoraged. (We are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.2 Cor 4) We are commited now more than ever to be the church, the hands and feet of Jesus to the broken, to the poor & the needy, and to people just like the very same young lady that broke into our bulding. (For what we preach is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake 2 Cor 4)
We are asking you to do 2 things. First, pray. Pray for the young lady, that the Lord would bring her healing and restoration and that she would come to know him and know that she is Loved and that there is Hope even for her. Pray for our Pastors and for our church members, that the Lord would encourage us and give us a new vision for whats to come and the means by which to re-build. Pray that he would remind us that WE did not build this church, that the Pastors did not build this church, but that HE, The Lord Almighty, sovereign and perfect in all his ways, is the Master Builder and the chief cornerstone and because of that truth our work year after year, every dollar spent, every hour sacrificed has not been in vain. Pray that truth of his word would bring a joy in this chaos and even gratitude for what has happened and what is to come. Help us thank the Lord this day after Thanksgiving, for the miracles already taken place and for the reality that what the enemy maybe meant for evil, God is turning for good and for HIS glory. Thank him that His is the victory and that no one or no thing can rival him.
And lastly we ask that if you are able, that you would prayerfully consider partnering with us financially as we begin this rebuilding process. Your financial help will be used for the complete remodeling process of Nueva Vida. It will be a long one, but we will be worshipping God every step of the way just like we did today after the fire.
We are so excited and expectant for the fuutre of our church and this building. We believe that out of these Ashes a new hope will arise.
To God be the Glory.
