My name is Billye Johnson and I'm one of the many people who has been helped by Richard Bragvad. Richard was a friend of my daughter for many years, and after her death, he was one of the close-knit group who jumped in to help me. That is just Richard's nature...to be a man who helps others and never asks for help for himself.

On December 1, Richard, who is a plumber, parked his business van just steps away from Home Depot in north Dallas in the middle of the day. He went inside to pick up the parts he had ordered and was in there less than 10 minutes. Thieves took advantage of that short period of time to pull the lock on the van, hot wire it, then steal it and all of Richard's equipment and supplies along with Christmas presents he had just picked up for his family. The van was found the next day in Deep Ellum with empty racks and shelves. The thieves took anything they could that was valuable.

Even though he was insured, none of his insurance covers this kind of theft.
