Help rebuild the Alton Family Farm
Hi, I am trying to help my parents, Ian and Cheryll Alton, who lost their barn, tractors, equipment, and winter feed in a fire on Sunday, August 29th in Trent Hills.
Their historic 240 year old bank barn was struck by lightning during the storm just after 10:00 pm, and is a complete loss.
My mom was able to get the horses and alpacas out of the barn and to the safety of a field, but was unable to save anything else.
They need help with immediate expenses- feed, emergency shelter/gates/pens, animal medication, veterinary care, feeders, water troughs, etc.
Insurance will ultimately help to cover some of the cost of rebuilding, but tractors, feed, and other contents, as well as short term expenses are out of pocket.
Any amount helps, and will go a long way towards getting them back on their feet while they deal with this devastating loss.
Thank you!
