Help my family evacuate Gaza and restore our lives

Hello, my name is Baraa Albayari, and I am reaching out from Dublin with a plea that is both urgent and deeply personal. My family are living through an incredibly challenging time, one that has tested our strength, our hope, and our resilience in the face of adversity.

My Story

I lived in Gaza most of my life and moved soon to Turkey for a better life. A hope for a future where it could not be found back in my country. That’s not where my story ends however, due to my poor conditions in Turkey I was again forced to relocate. I was now in the struggle to reach a Greek island called Kos. With no aid to get there, my only choice was to swim 6 hours across the sea. Despite the risk of nearly being killed by the waves, the journey was soon to be known as the “Trip of death”. Finally, my last trip was then made to Dublin, Ireland. Dublin was the only city I knew where I could be safe with the desire of bringing my family back.

My families struggle for Survival and Dignity

Like many young people around the world, I have dreams and aspirations not just for myself but for my loved ones. I envision a future where we can live in peace, pursue our goals, and thrive without fear. Unfortunately, the harsh reality of the Israeli occupation has severely hindered my ability to dream and achieve.

The war has had dire consequences for my family, forcing them to relocate more than 7 times.

My father was killed by an Israeli airstrike while walking towards a mosque. Our homes demolished—the home I grew up in, my brother’s home, and those of my married sisters. We are now facing a slow death, a life without food and water.

My younger brother; Bahaa Albayari not even 17, faces liver disease during this genocide.

They are now in the brink of homelessness, a daunting challenge that looms large as this conflict persists.
