Help rebuild The Switchboard

Donation protected
In the early hours of May 21, arsonists burned down our free little library/geocache.

It was a true labor of love that took my husband over two years to design and build. In addition to woodworking, there was code writing, custom circuit boards, so many little touches.

When people arrived, they picked up the rotary phone and dialed the operator. One of our operators (Ernestine, Dr. Doof, Roz, or our fast talking daughter) would give them instructions about how to open the secret compartment and access the contents. Patrons had to try their hand at being a switchboard operator. Once all five cords were correctly connected, the door automatically opened.

Keeping the library well stocked was a delight. In addition to books, we had toys, stickers, and small crochet items.

We loved offering geocachers and library visitors a touch of whimsy in their day.

If you donate to our rebuilding, we will honor you and engrave your name on a plaque acknowledging you.

The Switchboard was magical to all who visited. I invite you to become part of the magic.
