The Troublesome Creek Stringed Instrument Company is a guitar manufacturer in Hindman, Kentucky that trains and employs people in recovery from addiction. In a place where work is scarce and the opioid epidemic continues to rage, The Troublesome Creek Stringed Instrument Company saves people’s lives by offering purpose and community - the antidotes to addiction.

But on July 28th, the devastating floods that rocked Eastern Kentucky tore through the heart of Troublesome Creek as well, destroying all of their equipment, months and months of work, and threatened the livelihood of more than a dozen employees - people who have worked so hard to better their lives and their families lives after years of addiction and struggle.

The Troublesome Creek Stringed Instrument Company is WAY more than just an employer. Its founder, Doug Naselroad, is doing the REAL work of helping those find a path out of addiction and to rebuild their lives through purpose and employment.

About me: My name is Curren Sheldon and I am an Academy-Award nominated and Emmy-winning filmmaker from West Virginia, based in TN. I have been working on a film about Troublesome Creek for some time but am now shifting my efforts to help them fundraise and rebuild.
