To say I am floored by the progress of this fundraiser is an understatement. My gratitude to all the donors runs deep. Many folks have inquired on where they can volunteer or make donations. We are waiting to hear from community leaders who have spoken to those impacted on what they specifically need, once we do there will be a call to action on our end. Feel free to submit contact information (Full name, phone number, email, skills you're contributing, your availability and information on who will be accompanying you) to me if you want to Volunteer through here. I will pass your info off to people who need this information to organize clean up and care. Transparency is key in this sort of effort and I have not been sitting and waiting for something to happen. I was on calls with various businesses, organizations, and individuals all day yesterday and attended a Powell County meeting yesterday to learn more, hear what people's needs are and witness who is stepping up and learn more on how to determine where your amazing donations can serve to the highest order. I will make sure to keep y'all updated and in the loop to the best of my ability. This surpassed my wildest dreams and I have y'all to thank for that. Thanks for the trust, for the love, and the compassion towards our people. I am working endlessly to not let our communities or any of y'all down. - Lila
Original Text: March 1st 2021 The Red River Gorge region and surrounding areas have been devastated by flooding leaving many stranded without a home, food, and other resources. This account is made to help raise money to assist people who are in need. We may not be able to rebuild homes and lives, but we can help provide food, money for temporary housing, gas, and other needs til folks can get on their feet.
The money raised through this account will be gifted toward community charities and families needing direct aid. If you have information on local charities supporting those in need after the flood water lower or families/folks in need of direct assistance please contact me. If you are wanting to offer hands on help or other donations please contact me as I am compiling a list of volunteers and organizations they can assist.
