Dear Friends and Supporters,
My name is Marwa Abdelfattah, an Egyptian citizen residing in Washington, DC. The immense suffering in Gaza has been a profound heartbreak, one that has deeply moved me to find meaningful ways to help. Today, I’m reaching out to you to support a cause that is close to my heart—raising funds for Rim Mohammad Abdel Karim Zediyeh, whose story I discovered through her Instagram account, @reemzidiah. The funds we raise will be sent to Egypt via Western Union to support Reem's family as they embark on their post-evacuation journey. Once Reem reaches Egypt, she will receive these funds directly.
A Glimpse into Reem’s Story:
Rim Zediyeh is a courageous young activist from Gaza, whose life and family have been shattered by the ongoing conflict. They have lost everything. Amidst the devastation, Rim and her family of eight find themselves in a constant state of displacement, struggling to access the most basic necessities—sanitation, food, water, and medicine.
Despite these unimaginable challenges, Rim remains steadfast in her efforts to secure the funds necessary for her family’s evacuation. Yet, the road to safety in Egypt, once the borders reopen, is fraught with difficulty. And even after reaching Egypt, Rim and her family will face the overwhelming task of rebuilding their lives from the ground up.
Your generous contribution will provide Rim and her family with the support they desperately need for a dignified and secure start in Egypt during their first six months after evacuation. The funds will be used to meet their essential needs, such as securing safe housing, food, clothing, medical care, utility services, and educational opportunities for Rim, her five siblings—including a baby less than a year old—and her parents.
With your help, we can offer Rim and her family a chance to recover from the trauma they have endured and to rebuild their lives with the dignity they deserve.

• Housing and Shelter: $4,000 (Rent: $3,000; Utilities: $1,000 for 6 months)
