UPDATE:

On Thursday April 8, Regina went home to be with the Lord. She leaves behind loving husband of 35 years, Glenn, as well as the 4 grandchildren they were raising together: Javeon (11), Tailan (7.5), Raiven (4.5), and Taraiah (1.5). Due to Glenn's career as a truck driver having him away from the home for days at a time, he has been unable to return to work since recovering from his own COVID-19 battle and in the future, we are unsure if he will ever be able to return to work due to his newly adopted role of fulltime caretaker. As a family, we want to ensure the financial security of Glenn and the 4 grandchildren to make sure that their lives are able to continue despite the deep hole left by the loss of his wife and their Nana.
We are shifting the focus of this fundraising campaign to raise money to create four bank accounts for each child to use for future expenses such as clothes, school supplies, sports fees, and eventual higher education costs. We are striving to teach them financial literacy and to establish generational wealth for them so that this is one aspect of their lives that they do not have to worry about. Their worlds have been turned upside down, so anything that we can do as a family and as a greater community to help them flourish in the remainder of their youth will be done.
We are so incredibly appreciate of every kind word, text, phone call, Facebook share, and monetary donation that has been made thus far. My God Bless each and every one of you!

On the night of January 27th, after battling COVID-19 at home for 5 days, Regina and Glenn Dalcourt were transported to a regional hospital in Bowling Green, KY for further medical treatment. Glenn battled a strong case of pneumonia but was able to be released from the hospital on Monday February 8th. Regina, or more affectionately known as "Nana," continued her battle and after 3 days in the hospital, was moved to ICU and placed on a ventilator. After a week and a half of little to no improvement, the decision was made to fly Regina to another hospital in Nashville, TN. Upon arrival to Centennial, it was determined that Regina would be best served being placed on ECMO or extracorporeal membrane oxygenation, in order to give her lungs and her heart the chance to heal and further fight the virus and the ensuing pneumonia.

As of March 9th, Regina has been in ICU and either on a ventilator or the ECMO machine for 4 weeks. Glenn has been able to be home and further recover while also caring fulltime for their 4 grandchildren whom they raise. While Glenn's job has provided both of them with health insurance and now short term disability, we know that this will not be able to last much longer. Glenn is unable to return to work and because of this, the family is beginning to suffer a financial strain.

As a family, we are raising money in order to provide Glenn and the 4 grandchildren with enough money to cover daily living necessities, like rent, utility payments, and gasoline to get the kids to daycare and to school. We pray daily for Nana's healthy and safe return to her home, but realistically, we do not know when this day will come. This leaves Glenn unable to work and provide financially for the family, as he will also be responsible for Nana's care upon her exit from the hospital. We are coming together to ask our extended family, friends, and community for support during this tumultuous and trying time for our family. Regina has been a vibrant and loved member of the Franklin, KY community for over 30 years and all that know her or know of her know of her compassion, selflessness, and love for all those around her.

The most unfortunate part of the current circumstances are that the  grandchildren have had their world upended, as Nana has been their primary caretaker and school teacher for the past year and they have not been able to see her for almost 2 months. We want to provide them with a sense of safety and security during these uncertain times as well as ensuring that they are able to remain in their home with the lights on and the water running.

We are appreciative of anything you are able to contribute to this fund and we ask that you please share our fundraising efforts with everyone that you know. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts and God Bless each and every one of you.

With love and appreciation,
The Dalcourt Family
