Help Release Elita Renée’s Music

My name is Elita Renée. I’m a starting-out musician creating original solo work.

In a couple weeks, from August 15-19th I have time off of work and the opportunity to record music with a friend in their studio in Oceanside, CA!! Last summer 2021, I recorded in Oceanside with a friend and completed/ released my first-ever singles, “Christmas Doesn’t Feel the Same” and “Wish You Were Gone”. I wrote both of these songs, “Therapist”, and more in 2018 (and have been writing more songs ever since!). It was so so satisfying to see these projects come to completion after years of writing, working with my music teacher, trying to collaborate with friends, failed attempts with a different producer, and finally landing on connecting with a great friend and professional to complete these tunes. We got to studio record vocals, track instruments, produce my songs, and even send it to be mix/ mastered and released! I have never been so excited, satisfied, and proud of something I completed creatively in my life (and I’ve created a lot of art!!).

All of this to say, working on and completing these 2.5 songs over the years cost me personally around $3,000 (not including food and travel expenses… and that’s a reasonable rate for the professional quality songs we produced!).

I would love love love to continue creating music, and releasing my songs in a professional format. But this is a really financially difficult time in my life. Though I adoree my new full time job, I’ve been commuting 500 miles a week for work with gas prices through the roof, and trying to relocate to find cheaper housing. Not exactly the best time to invest in an expensive “hobby”, even though creatively I’m bursting at the seems to work on more music!

Music is not only satisfying to my soul and life, it is a way for me to create a permanent time capsule of art to share with my community and loved ones. One of my favorite and most unexpectedly exciting parts of this process has been receiving so much positive feedback from my family, friends, and community — even people I hadn’t connected with in awhile!

$2,800 would allow me to pay for about 50 hours of studio recording (vocals), hiring musicians to create the tracks (guitar, drums, piano, I got the flute), producing (making it sound clean and quality, extra cool sounds), and mix/ mastering (making sure I’m not screaming too loud over the beautiful rhythm guitars and piano parts). Anything over $2,800, I will cover. Including: distribution fees, travel expenses (food, gas, lodging while recording), photography for album art and marketing, and any extra time or love needed on these songs (I’m willing to put in the love they deserve, as seen before!).

Any amount would be sooo helpful! Especially as I’m hoping to be in the studio in just 2 weeks from now! (A pleasant surprise/ connection that I want to jump on).

If I’m able to fundraise enough, I can complete the instrument tracking, producing, and mix/ master for my song “Therapist” to be released this year, and studio record vocals and instruments for at least 2 more songs (that I’ve already written and am so so excited to create!) to release by late 2022, or early 2023.
