Help Rem Raise Funds for Rent

Donation protected
UPDATE: 7/23/23

So I fucked up and fell off my longboard on my way to work a few days ago. I was going pretty fast, roughly 30mph. My co-worker did the best they could to clean and bandage me up.

Shortly after I went to the hospital. Doc says I fractured my elbow. Everything on my left side is extremely painful/sore especially my ribs and wrist. Hit my head too, very tender. I can't cough, laugh or move rapidly as my left side of my torso hurts like hell and is very tender.

know longboard's (and bombing hills) aren't the best way of transportation, but I'm reliant on the bus and I live far from work on top of that. It's my own damn fault for assuming this could be fast and reliable.

Now I'm out of work for a few weeks or more. Which isn't good as I won't be able to afford rent. I really messed shit up. I cried all day feeling like a failure unable to make money. Hopefully I can work something out with my boss. I'm not sure.

UPDATE: 7/18/20

I got a place!!!!!!!!!

My friend Rem needs help!

Rem is a 30-something-year-old trans woman, originally from Oregon, now in Austin, Texas, and she is currently at the mercy of a landlord and roommate for their awkward living situation. Rent for June is paid, but all bodies living there must be out by July 20th.

Rem and I are combing Facebook housing groups for a new room for rent. However, Rem needs to raise enough funds for the deposit and first month's rent. Rem is running out of time. Rem is living off mutual aid, plasma donations, random photography/filmmaking gigs, and their current part-time job in housekeeping. Rem is working on getting their SNAP food benefits activated as well.

Rem's ultimate goal is to move back to Portland, as the Pacific Northwest is what she knows and grew up in. Oregon is one of the safest places for trans people as well as being the best place to get trans health. But sadly, Rem is stuck in Texas. The good thing is Rem is meeting all kinds of interesting queer folk and queer artists in Austin, and gaining new friends.

Any extra funds I make, I will most definitely donate to non-profit organizations that help trans youth and trans adults. I have a few in mind. I'm of course open to suggestions.
