Help Us Move Remarque Print Workshop to a New Home!
Dear Friends, Artists, Educators, and Supporters of the Printmaking Community,
We hope this letter finds you well and creating! As many of you know, Remarque Print Workshop (formerly New Grounds Printshop) has been an integral part of the Albuquerque arts scene for over 20 years. We’ve spent two decades building a space for local printmakers, students, and educators to collaborate, learn, and create. Now, we find ourselves in the exciting, yet daunting, position of relocating to a new home—and we need your help to make it happen.
We are thrilled to share that we have found an incredible new space for our studio: Tortuga Art Space, a beloved fixture of the Albuquerque arts community for over a decade. This charming building offers high ceilings, abundant natural light, a groovy basement, and an expansive garden—all the perfect ingredients for a vibrant new home for Remarque. With the support of a group of wonderful investors, we’ve been able to purchase the space and are ready to begin the exciting work of transforming it into the printmaking haven that we envision for our community.
Why We Need Your Support:
Though we are not a registered nonprofit, the work we do at Remarque is truly a labor of love. The heart and soul of Remarque has always been our commitment to providing a non-toxic, welcoming, and collaborative space for artists and students. We love what we’ve built here and believe in our mission to serve as a hub for printmaking in New Mexico and being a home studio for local printmakers. In addition, our work includes hosting annual printmaking residencies, offering diverse workshops, supporting high school printmaking shows, and inviting visiting artists to lead educational programs. There is no other printmaking studio like us in the state, and we want to ensure that Remarque continues to thrive and expand its impact
Moving all of the operations and equipment of our studio workshop, however, is no small feat. We need to raise at least $16,000 to cover costs of:
• Renovations, including updated lighting, plumbing, and the construction of a darkroom.
• Equipment relocation: We need to move seven presses, etching tanks, workbenches, a washout booth, exposure units, and countless other tools and equipment that our artists rely on.
• Expenses related to being temporarily closed for the move: rent, utilities, and unforeseen costs while we transition.
How You Can Help:
While any support you can provide is invaluable, we are specifically asking for financial contributions to help cover these costs. Whether you are able to make a one-time contribution or support us over time, your generosity will directly impact the success of this move.
Donation Levels:
• $25 helps with paintbrushes!
• $50 – Covers a box of supplies for the move
• $100 – Helps with lighting upgrades in the new space
• $250 – Supports the construction of our darkroom
• $500 – Contributes to equipment relocation costs
• $1000 or more – Makes a significant impact on our renovations and overall move
• Monthly contributions at any level would also greatly help us out
Every dollar brings us one step closer to making this dream a reality.

The Big Picture:
We know this move will create an even better space for our community of printmakers and artists. Your contribution will not only help us relocate, but also ensure that Remarque continues to be a thriving, dynamic space for art-making and community engagement for years to come.
We plan to move in June 2025—just around the corner—and we’re counting on your support to help us get there. We can’t do it without you, and we’re so grateful for your ongoing love and belief in what we do.
To make a donation, please do! or feel free to reach out to us directly if you’d prefer to contribute by check or another method.
Thank you for being part of the Remarque community. We’re excited for what the future holds and look forward to continuing this journey with you by our side!
With gratitude,
