Help Rendy Jones Cover Sundance 2025

Hi! My name is Rendy Jones (they/he). I am a freelance film critic and owner of, let's say well-known, indie outlet, Rendy Reviews. In 2019, my entire career pivoted for the better when I received a stipend to attend the Sundance Film Festival. I was a 20-year-old college student at the time, and it was the first film festival I attended out of NYC. Hell, it was the first time I traveled outside of NYC. Since, it changed my life as I was able to cover countless incredible titles and connect with many filmmakers who poured the soul of their projects on their sleeve. 

Five years have passed since I last attended Sundance in person  — like 2020 was the last one. I know, right? GROSS! — and my reach has increased dramatically. This upcoming 2025 Sundance Film Festival sees many trusted acquaintances and friends within the industry I've made over the years premiering their latest projects at the festival. Considering that this is the penultimate year for the festival to be held in Park City, I would love to travel one last time for the sake of reviewing coverage and freelancing opportunities. I am raising funds for an airbnb, airfare, and Uber expenses (if I don't find a place to stay in Park City).

I am currently in consideration for a belated IRL press badge, for it's the only way I can cover it.  Though it may take a while for the approval to come through, I'm getting started on the gofundme now. I'd love to do a final Sundance run to support independent cinema, surrounded by the finest new and creative voices of today.
