WHAT HAPPENED
Medical Emergency
In October, my leg gave out, I fell and my hip broke. My friends called an ambulance, I had a hip replacement, was in a skilled nursing facility for 3 weeks, and was in physical therapy for a few months.
Finding Medical Causes
The hip is doing well, and 5 months after surgery, I was finally able to get diagnoses for the 2 underlying, degenerative spinal issues. I have gotten one spinal procedure and am in physical therapy; while they have not helped with the mobility, the pain has been lowered a little!
Medical Bills
Needless to say, there have been medical bills, including a surprise bill 6 months after surgery. I have decent medical coverage, but it still came to a lot.
Decreased Revenue Due to Medical Issues & Recovery
I have had incredible support from my friends, and from a therapist helping me deal with the trauma and with adjusting to living with increased levels of pain and decreased mobility.
Because of this, I have only recently been able to start promoting my private psychotherapy practice the way I had been. (I've linked my website below.) Several of my clients completed therapy, and several of my supervisees got licensed (hurray!) during this time, so my income has dropped quite a lot, and am behind in my bills. Any donation you can make will be of great help.
OTHER WAYS TO HELP
Stay in touch! I can't get out much, so would love to hear from my friends, and, if you're local, I would love you to set up a time to visit me in east Oakland if you can.
Help me promote my business to increase my income. A Dreamworker and Transpersonal Therapist for Alternative Healers, Artists and Intuitives, I also offer supervision for pre-licensed therapists and clinical consultation for licensed therapists. Because my work is online, I can offer these services to people anywhere in CA. And I can offer non-therapy dreamwork consultations to people anywhere. Help people know about my services.
