Help renovate the Haldane Outdoor Classroom

Hello, My name is Raunaq Kapoor and I am a Boy Scout in Troop 437 Phillipstown. I am a senior at Haldane High School and have been with the scouts since kindergarten. I am currently working towards earning the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest rank in scouting. In order to earn this rank I must plan, organize and execute a service project in my community.

For my project I am renovating the Haldane Outdoor Classroom at James Pond. The original classroom was built years ago and has been mostly destroyed since. The new classroom will consist of a table, benches, and a box for gear storage for supplies that students can use when they are at James Pond. I am raising money to cover the costs of wood and other materials used to build the classroom as well as the gear storage box. Additionally I also plan on laying mulch at the site and removing any hazards in the area.

This classroom will benefit students at Haldane who wish to bring their classes up to James Pond to study the wildlife and will help to facilitate learning in a non- traditional classroom environment.

All contributions will go directly towards the purchase of materials and supplies needed for this project.
