Help repair Newington CC’s vandalised pitch

Over the night of 24/25 February 2022 our cricket square was vandalised by persons unknown who poured diesel over the square.

We are a small village club who spend in the region of £2000 every year to keep our square in as good a condition as possible for use not only by us but other clubs including Kent Over 60’s.

The money for this coming season has now been wasted following this act and we are now in a position to have to do the work over again.

The contractor has said the following work must be done:-

‘The First we will have to spray it with a neutraliser. Then we are going to cover it in a dry loam to draw out some of the oil. Then we will shave off the top inch of grass and soil and replace with several tons of loam. Level out then leave until the soil temperature improves and overseed’.

This will take approximately four months.

Following on from Covid club funds are now stretched and your help will go some way in helping a club that is now entering its 181st year to continue.
