Help Rebuild Our Home After Flood Devastation

On August 18, we received a historical amount of rain and flash flooding in Connecticut. The serene pond behind our yard quickly rose into our yard and then flooded 5 feet of water into our main floor and completely destroyed our living room, kitchen, laundry room, bathroom, playroom and all appliances and furniture as well as our storage shed full of tools, outdoor toys and yard equipment. The water was so strong it moved our entire shed and chicken coop and killed 8 of our 9 chickens. As we were not in a flood zone, we unfortunately do not have flood insurance.

At first, we thought we would just be repairing our main floor. Now, our home has been condemned and we will need to demo and rebuild our entire home.

We still have 27 years left on our mortgage for this property, and need all the help we can get to build a new home while still paying off our mortgage. Your donations go directly to the cost of labor and materials to build.

My husband, myself, and my two daughters aged 3 and 8 are devastated. All we want is to be back in a home and back in Seymour. Every donation helps us tremendously, even $1 can add up.
